About the workshop

Sichuan Food has long since become widely famous for it’s spicy flavours and bold red colours. Sichuan Cuisine, otherwise known as Chuan Cuisine (Chinese: 川菜, pinyin: chuan cai) originated from the Sichuan Province in Southwestern China, but today it’s dishes are a staple in most Chinese Restaurants around the globe.

Chuan cuisine favours the usage of garlic, ginger, star anise and chili peppers. The infamous Sichuan peppercorn (Chinese: 花椒; pinyin: huājiāo) has an intense flavour and produces a “tingly-numbing” (Chinese adjective: 麻; pinyin: ma) sensation on the lips and tongue! While most Sichuan dishes are spicy, a typical meal will include non-spicy dishes to cool the palate.

In this workshop, we will focus mainly on Chuan Cuisine’s Wok Dishes and give you a choice of the following menus to choose your workshop itinerary from!
