About the workshop
Roti prata belongs to a group of breads indigenous to India. Introduced to Singapore by Indian immigrants, roti prata is said to be either of Punjabi origin as wheat dishes feature prominently in the Punjabi diet, or introduced by the Muslim conquerors, who also specialised in making various types of breads. Whatever its origin, roti prata has become an integral component of Indian cuisine in Singapore!*
Prata is a fried flat bread cooked over a flat iron grill/ pan and usually served with chicken or mutton curry, dhaal and/ or sugar as a dipping dish. Crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside - Prata can often be seen being eaten any hour of the day in Singapore! Some people even call it the "Singaporean answer to the croissant".

Unlimited Roti Prata and teh/kopi at the end of this workshop! :)
Making prata requires skills in slapping and swinging the dough - something our chefs will be more than happy to demonstrate and have you try! In this prata making workshop, we will be learning how prata filled with popular add-ons such as egg, onion, cheese, banana and even instant noodles are flipped and prepared!
Our workshop structure is simply:
1. Introduction to prata making
3. Hands-on prata-making experience*
4. Eating all the prata you can take!**
*For food and safety reasons, no frying will be part of the workshop
**Ice Cream Prata, Murthabak and Plaster Blaster are not part of the Unlimited Roti Prata offering. However, choice of free-flow Teh and Kopi are included!
