Mixed Class · Come try your hand at crafting your own Boro tote bags!
Derived from the Japanese word 'boroboro', which means something tattered or repaired, 'boro' refers to the practice of reworking and repairing textiles through piecing, patching and stitching. Boro garments used to be handed down over generations, eventually resembling a patchwork after decades of mending.
In this workshop, come try your hand at creating your very own, one-of-a-kind Boro tote using the traditional Sashiko stitching methods! Choose to have your entire tote or just the straps with boro patchwork. No experience with sewing or stitching required! At the end of the day, you'll bring home your very own tote bag, and learn how to incorporate the learned techniques and Boro aesthetic into any future projects!
