About the workshop

Did you know? The typography technology was brought to Singapore in 1819 by missionaries, but it was quickly replaced by more efficient machinery. Today, typesetting is somewhat considered a lost art. But there is an artisan here who wants to speak up for this traditional form of typesetting!

Go on this guided tour with YY to find out more about the role that letterpressing and typography plays in Singaporean culture, and how it shaped our printing industry! Go on to try your hand at the printing press, and bring back an old school piece of print that you can keep as a memento!
